Slotslyngen – a magnificent and varied landscape
Slotslyngen is a magnificent and varied landscape on Bornholm. Slotslyngen spreads from Mølledalen below the Hammershus Castle Ruins southwards towards Vang. Several marked paths lead across and along this fascinating Bornholm landscape with its windswept highland heather, the lush and wild growing forest with birch, Scots pine, oak, hornbeam and honeysuckle, as well as the characteristic ice-scoured round cliffs.
Slotslyngen offers dramatic natural scenery
Slotslyngen offers the most dramatic natural scenery when you follow the path very close to the coastline, with a view of the sea deep below you on one side and the impressive Bornholm rock formations rising high above you on the opposite side of the path. The unique highland character and the view of Hammerhus are naturally maintained by grazing sheep, which in this way prevents the area from growing over.
